What has happened to the law system in the country? People who have intentionally murdered people seem to be getting out of prison after a couple of years, whereas tax evaders seem to be put away for much longer?
Does it make any sense? Many people who have been jailed for serious criminal offences are coming out of prison early for good behaviour. Yet the ones who have stolen money from the government are stuck in cells for years. How does that work? In the newspapers it says that there is not enough room in the prisons to keep all the people in there, yet they can put fraudsters and people unable to pay taxes in there for years!
Most people would feel safer with a tax evader walking the streets than with a mass murderer who has apparently redeemed themselves after just a couple of years of being locked away. What happened to doing life? Does that not exist anymore? Is the government saying that it is a worse offence to steal money from them than it is to kill somebody in cold blood?
