The price of petrol and diesel has gone up astronomically in the last few months, and we are to expect an even further rise soon!! Many people cannot afford to run their cars anymore and no one can understand why the increase has been so big. The government says that it is because of the high demand from the Chinese which is pushing up our prices here.
The cost of road tax has gone up for four-wheel drive vehicles for the reason that they use more fuel. Surely, if they are already paying higher costs for fuel, they should not have to pay higher road tax as well. They are being punished twice for owning a large vehicle which is just not right. Many families own larger cars to get their kids to and from school, and these added prices are pushing them hard. The government should be stepping in and stopping the petrol companies from being so greedy. Isn’t it funny how prices just keep going up, and yet will never come back down again??
